Scott Monument in Edinburgh

Part of my literary tour when I visited Edinburgh mid-July this year

The majestic tower as seen from Princes Street

The Scott Monument towering the city’s skyline is over 200 ft which was built in commemoration of Sir Walter Scott. This Gothic architecture is unique in the world for being the largest in honor to a writer. A close up look of the tower reveals the statue of both Scott and characters from his work.

You may climb the tower’s 287 steps to enjoy a great panoramic view of the city that inspired many artists.
